What are satellite radio antennas and what are their uses? This is the question that many people ask themselves when they hear about satellite radio antennas. As you read this article you will get an idea on what a satellite radio antenna is. Also you will learn what are their uses, functions and a lot of great pointers on where to buy one, what types are there and how to take care of it.

In order for you to listen and watch your programs you need a satellite radio antenna. This allows the module that you are using to communicate with its home base; the home base includes all of the programs and it allows you to choose what you would like to view. This all sounds like something out of a sci fi movie, but it is not. Your television, radio, even your computer has a satellite radio antenna.

Now that you know what satellite radio antennas are here are some of their main functions and uses. When you turn on your satellite in order for you to watch any of your programs on it the main thing needed is the satellite radio antenna. It allows the base (your PSP) to communicate with the main base of the whole entire system. This gives you the ability to either listen to your music or watch your programs, which ever you may choose.

Many people wonder where they can buy satellite radio antennas. You may buy one in your local hardware store. There is no specific company you should purchase your antenna from because different companies make different types of these mechanisms.

The different types usually go based on the use of the satellite radio antennas. You may be buying it for your car, bike, and stereo system or maybe even just for your house. They all have the same functions and every company that makes them to does their best to suit you and all of your needs.

The best way you can take care of you satellite radio antenna is to keep it out of water, as we all know electricity and water are not what we could call the greatest of friends. Also, these should be kept out of the reach of any young children; if yours is already inside of something you should make sure that it stays in there but if not any young child can swallow it and cause much harm. If this does happen please alert the police department as quickly as you can.

Now that you know what satellite radio antennas are, their functions, where to buy one and how to care for it you are ready to buy your own. Always keep in mind that depending on what size and type of a satellite radio antenna will vary in its price range. If you buy something for cheap it won’t last too long but you did not spend that much money on it, but if you buy something expensive it will last longer even if you did spend that extra hundred dollars on it.

Satellite Radio HQ talks about the history of satellite radio, the equipment you’ll need, the satellite radio channels you can receive and much more.

If you want to update the interior of your home, one of your best options is to install a home theater. But if this sounds like something that interests you, there are a couple of options that you will need to consider. Home theater installation can be done in one of two ways.

First off, if you are looking to save money and are the handy man type, you may want to consider installing your own home theater. This is not a difficult task if you have a little bit of skill, as well as some patience. In most cases, you will be able to complete most jobs with ease. Where you may run into a problem is when you are trying to wire your system. The best way to get around this is by following the directions to a T. This way, you do not get off course and you are ensured of a 100% accurate job upon completion.

When you install your own home theater, you have a lot of options as to what equipment to buy. You can purchase a “home theater in a box” setup which provides you with everything you need. This is a great idea of you don’t know what components you want or you simply want the convenience of one stop shopping and the assurance that all your components will fit and work together.

If you prefer to buy the pieces separate then you should do some research before hitting the stores. Perhaps you have a favorite piece you want for your home theater - if this is a must have you should figure that into your budget first and then go looking for the other pieces that will fit into the remainder of your budget. Checking out components at a few different stores before you jump in and buy can help you get a better deal and a better understanding of what you want.

If you do not want to install your own home theater for one reason or the next, you should check into having a professional do the job for you. Most of the time, whoever you buy your equipment from will also be able to set everything up for you. The main advantage of having a professional complete the project is that you know the job will be done correctly. Also, they can make suggestions as to what sort of set up you should use. The only downside to hiring a professional is that you will have to pay for their services.

Overall, home theater installation is not a difficult task. You can either take the job on yourself, or get the help of the professional. Either way, make sure that the job gets done correct, and your room is set up exactly how you envisioned it.

Let the Seeds Grow

Comments Off

The thought that every great thing that has ever happened, been spoken or invented began first with a single idea is not a new one, but one I don’t think many people have taken to heart.

I find that many people are constantly getting ideas. That is their mind is producing many new thoughts on a regular basis. This is incredible because that means that the seeds for great things are right there in the soil of our minds and hearts.

Unfortunately, we all too often do not let those seeds grow.

Instead we dismiss the idea.

We will never know, but I wonder who it was that first thought of the light bulb, but dismissed the idea. I wonder who it was that first saw the automobile in his or her mind’s eye, but dismissed the idea. Who was it that thought up the way to run computers but allowed the seed to slip away?

Let these seeds grow! Do not dismiss any idea as a bad one immediately. Write your ideas down. Look at them for a week or a year. Brew over them. Consider them. Let them GROW. In the end you may need to dismiss them, but not before you give them a chance to grow into something incredible that may change your life, your family, your business, your community or your world. If you let your ideas grow, you will surely see many great things happen in your life.

Let your seeds of ideas grow - see what they may become!

You’ve likely heard this before… “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

Says who? I mean come on. If prevention was so popular why would we see so many “cures” being marketed. Why? Because of basic human nature that’s why.

We play the odds, we ‘wait and see’. We figure that if it breaks then we’ll fix it. Afterall, if it never breaks maybe the prevention was never required - who can tell…

Prevention is the smart thing to do - no doubt about it. But mankind is not all about making ’smart moves’, we make decisions based on emotion, ego, and occasionally, sometimes logic.

For every one person who ‘prevents’ something, there will be many, many more who will gladly wait and see - and then PAY handsomely for a cure.

Educating the masses is a noble thing to do, but it won’t necessarily make you wealthy. Don’t believe me? Here’s proof: TOOTHPASTE.

We all know that brushing your teeth is a good way to prevent tooth decay and gum disorders yet the toothpaste manufactures don’t try telling us this… no way, that’s too boring. They gave up trying to educate us about these things years ago.

Now it’s all about SEX!

They tell us it “freshens our breath”, “makes our ’smile’ whiter” and of course this improves your sex appeal (of course they don’t actually say this - but we all know that’s what they’re selling).

Think CURES not PREVENTION and your bank account will love you for it.

One last point. This whole cure vs. prevention argument is like the “teach a man to fish” story. Sure we could all learn to fish and have fish for life…

But that’s what grocery stores are for right - to ‘BUY’ fish not ‘CATCH’ them?

Satellite Dish companies are stepping up the war for new customers on the airwaves and the cable companies are answering with their own advertising campaigns. It seems like we are bombarded every day with advertisements from the television providers asking for our money and trust in their product. So who has the best deals?

Let’s look at the individual players in this “war”.

Satellite Dish providers sell you a dish that attaches to the roof of your house (or some other convenient location) that can “track” the provider’s satellite and bring the signal into your home. Most of the dish companies are offering the dish as a free incentive to subscribing to their service so this cost is absorbed by them, which is very nice. The usually ask you to sign a contract for 18 months and they offer a relative low monthly payment for basic channels. (I am old enough to remember the only thing available was black and white reception and only 3 channels. Now you have several hundred channels available to watch. It must take hours just to find out what is on them all). If you want the other extra nice program packages it is an additional monthly cost. The addition of what you really want, movies, sports, etc. These can really bring the monthly cost up to the point of threatening your budget. Additional incentives to get your business are: Lower monthly charges for the first couple of months, DVD and HDTV. Some of these add-ons are only offered free for the first couple of months and then their charges are added to you monthly payment. Watch these as they will add up quickly. Is it really necessary to have everything? Just order what you can afford.

If you should want to move during your contract period it is nice to know that they will move your equipment to your new residence and you do not have to go through all the trouble of starting over. There may be a fee for this service but you never have to worry about moving to an area where you cannot get reception and that is really nice. They frown on your trying to cancel the contract and there is usually a stiff penalty so be sure that you want to pay the monthly fees before you sign up.

The Satellite Dish programs are all very good and offer installation for several rooms, free installation, free upgrade and outstanding customer service.

Cable providers offer pretty much the same packages but there are some draw backs to their offers. The most disturbing is the lack of coverage in large parts of the country. I live in an area where the cable is available across the street but not on my side of the street. That seems a little strange to me but that is the way it is and nothing I can do or say will change it. Cable offers to relocate your service if you move within their territory for coverage and they will “refer” you to another cable company if you move out of their territory, but not all cable companies are the same and you may be looking at higher costs and fees that are not in your best interests.

Let me ask you a question, where does the cable company get their signal? Answer, from satellite dish companies. Now it seems reasonable to me that if you cut out the middle man and go straight to the provider you should save money. What happens if the satellite dish companies decide to raise the rates for the cable company? Your rates go up. (I think that the government has a control on this so it is unlikely that it will happen, but then I thought the government had control over the rates of the phone and utilities companies and my rates seem to go up every year anyway).

The good old fashion antenna in the attic is another choice, reception is not very good, no additional perks like DVD or HDTV but the cost is right. ZERO Cost.
If you grab hold of the antenna wire, stand on one foot with your thumb in your mouth and turn just the right way reception will improve, but it is hard to watch the TV and stand on one foot very long so maybe you can wire up the dog.

So what is the conclusion here? Which is better for you? As always it comes down to what you can deal with. Maybe our parents were right after all. We watch too much TV, go outside and play. Costs less and is better for us, but since that is not going to happen I think the best option is Satellite Dish. Reasonable cost, good program selection, good incentive offers and can be moved to any location in the world.

Local radio has taken a beating from satellite radio. But are XM and Sirius capable of killing local broadcast radio?

The broadcasting corporations such as Infinity and Clear Channel are answering with an emphatic “no!” And they have a powerful weapon called HD Radio to back up their position.

HD Radio is digital radio. As such, it enable a dramatic increase in sound quality. In fact, it makes AM radio sound as good as today’s FM and FM sound as if you were listening to a CD.

Other important reasons

But there are other, equally important, reasons why satellite radio will never replace conventional radio. First and foremost, is cost. Satellite radio costs anywhere from $11 to $14 a month and conventional radio is free. As a result there are only about 5.5 million satellite radio listeners in the U.S.and literally hundreds of millions of broadcast radio listeners. It’s pretty hard to believe that satellite radio will ever have 100 million listeners, let alone several hundred million.

Second, satellite radio can’t deliver local information or programming. People will always turn to their local stations for weather, traffic reports, news and to hear their favorite personalities.

Third, satellite radio cannot continue to hire personalities such Howard Stern and Bob Dylan to attract subscribers because the cost is just too prohibitive vs. revenue generated from new subscribers. In fact,J.P. Morgan just downgraded the stocks of Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Corp saying that these two companies face near-term challenges to subscriber growth.

With a new concept called HD2

Because HD radio is digital, it requires less spectrum. This allows stations to broadcast their primary FM channel in digital and up to two more subchannels. These subchannels, which are being called HD2, will be used by broadcasters for new programming content. For example, a station might broadcast oldies of the 80s on its primary channel and hits from the 70s on an HD2 channel. The subchannels will not only be free, they will most likely be commercial free to compete head-to-head with satellite radio.

In short, broadcast radio is not going to die anytime soon. Or anytime at all.

A custom home theater is a great way to improve the interior of any home. If you are interested in this option, you will have hundreds of choices available to you. You can make your home media center into anything you want it to be and by customizing your home theater, you will have a unique space to occupy and entertain family and friends.

When you are customizing your home theater, you will need to buy several pieces of equipment and furniture.

The centerpiece of any home theater system is usually the television. If you are looking to customize your space, you will want to get a television that goes above and beyond normal duty. There are many options available to you, and you can choose your television based on size, model, and features. As a basic rule of thumb, if your room can handle it, bigger is always better. But remember, if you have a small space, you do not want to wedge a 60 inch television into it. This will only make the room seem small and cramped.

Another option to consider is the stereo system and speaker set up. A fully customized home theater system almost always has a surround sound speaker set up that brings top quality sound to your room. You can buy these pre packaged and they are not that difficult to set up. Be sure to get one with at least 5 speakers. If you really hate dealing with all those wires, consider getting a wireless sound system for your home theater.

Finally, when you are customizing your home theater, be sure to check into the different furniture options that are available. Your furniture can make or break your home theater, and you will want to be careful when making this decision. Of course, you want something that will be comfortable so that you can watch your movies and sporting events in luxury but at the same time you want something that looks good. Some people like to buy furniture that looks like movie house furniture while others opt for cushy sectionals that you can lounge out in. In the end it comes down to your preferences, your budget and what other purposes you use the room for.

When setting up your home theater, you want to be sure that every seat in the house has a great view as well as good sound. Place the television so that each seat has a good unobstructed view and your guests don’t have to keep their heads turned to see the action. You also want to be sure the speakers are placed so that the side, center and back speakers are in the right position for every place you can sit.

Overall, a custom home theater can be set up in a number of different ways. When you are setting up your theater make sure you are creative. This will help to ensure that nobody else has a theater set up that looks like yours. And isn’t that what customization is all about!

LCD is one of the biggest technologies in television at the moment, set to go head-to-head against plasma screens for the future of TVs.

But what do LCD televisions mean to you? Well, to begin with, the picture you get is a lot sharper. By now you’ve probably replaced your old bulky computer monitor with a flat, LCD one, and you’ve no doubt noticed the difference in picture quality and clarity. Now the companies behind LCD want it to do the same for televisions, making them flatter, clearer and altogether better.

Another thing to note is that the rise of HDTV (high-definition television) is linked to the rise of LCD televisions. HDTV allows the original TV signal to be broadcast in even better quality than a DVD, and digital LCD TVs can then display the signal perfectly.

It really makes TV as we know it today look ridiculously primitive by comparison - and if you’re willing to splash out on an LCD TV and an HDTV subscription, you can have it today. Every year, LCD screens are decreasing in price and increasing in size, making them an ever-better competitor against other screen technologies.

When you buy an LCD television, the main things to look for are size and price, although there are also more technical features you might be interested in, like colour depth (the number of colours the screen can display). Response time is one that is often considered important, as LCDs with a long response time can produce a blurring effect when showing pictures of something that is moving quickly. There is also a measurement called dot pitch, which roughly indicates how sharp the picture produced by the TV will be (lower numbers are better).

As a final word of advice, if you do decide to buy an LCD TV, make sure you see it in use in the shop first. You should watch to see how it handles different kinds of pictures, and what the display is like compared to other LCDs, as well as compared to plasma screens.

John Gibb is the owner of LCD Televisions guides, For more information on LCD Televisions please check out http://www.LCD-Televisions-Intelligence.Info

Having made it my business to look for divine shortcuts, I discovered early on that every bit of human technology is being made for an aid to finally discover that we really don’t need technology at all.

Yes, insanity, at first, but really ingenious, for this revelation is the ultimate shortcut. Insanity is so close to genius, because they need each other.

Can I prove my insane statement, or will you turn the other way and never ‘listen’ again?

It really is up to you, for you, individually, are asked to find God, which is your ONLY purpose on earth.

However, I am able to help.

The breadcrumbs of symbolism and specs of enlightenment are surrounding all of us equally, yet all depends on how we look. Nothing in regards to ‘quantity’ matters, for the supply is unlimited, and sufficient space provided. Quality (to BE), on the other (right-eous) hand, is all that matters.

Had we known that we CAN in fact fly, a matter with which many of us have become acquainted in our dreams, why would we need airplanes and helicopters (oh, well, yes, for the military).

Who ‘transports’ the birds? Does He who transports them ever need move, or isn’t He already everywhere, and the birds move within Him?

Birds are Symbols for finding God within, who would TRANSPORT (Philip) us as well, when we let Him.

This automatically eradicates whole industries, in the ‘food-chain’ below airplanes (cars, petrol, insurance…).

As usual, there’s more.

If we know that God is already everywhere and speaks through all of us, do we REALLY need a phone, an Internet, a letter mailing service, etc.?

If our true image is perfect, do we need doctors, medicine, hospitals?

If we can modify in metamorphosis, hidden from sight, ANYTHING & EVERYTHING about ourselves, do we need slimming products, creams and potions, cosmetic surgery, or exercise equipment, hypnosis, predictions, procedures, processes?

By now, you can see, where I am going?

Not yet?

To Armageddon.

The upheaval upon this revelation will be like an earth-quake, for ONLY the play & game, the recreation & enjoyment related industries will thrive, while all others falter.

Judgment day will be everyday, when individuals can no longer hide behind their money as an accomplishment, behind their actions as worthwhile and behind their ’sickness’, ‘old age’, ‘accidents’ & ‘death’ as regular fate.

Armageddon, the spiritually pre-determined destruction, will topple all that is not part of the plot.

Technology will serve for fun and play, but minimized to choice, and not ascribed to necessity.

Our technology is symbolism on the way to acquire God-power, the power of instant manifestation.

Winery? Or water into wine? Work and time? Or instant gratification?

Why delay your gratification?

You can have ALL now, and none of it must have existed prior to your desiring it.

The scriptures tell us that God HATED hairy Esau (supposed permanent reality), who swapped his entire INHERITANCE for a bowl of soup (earthly material existence) and that Abel was murdered.

Who murdered Abel, the able-body that talks every one out of innovative possibility and has all the reasons NOT to do something, while holding on to everything that ALREADY materialized (herding sheep)? Cain - the I CAN guy, the tiller of the ground, or spiritual substance, who God HID and protected 7 times, thus REWARDED for the act. Whom did God LOVE? Jacob, the supplanter, who supplants what supposedly IS with what CAN BE and receives the name (nature) IS REAL (Israel).

Listen, if I say, we can fly, it is already so, for what we think we seek has already found us, before we think it. God runs us perfectly through our inner tuition from the right brain hemisphere. By the time we start thinking interpretative thought, weakened by error (evil) and sin (missing the mark), our body (hologram) has already followed His command.

Sigmund Freud proved many, many years ago that human interpretative thinking is completely SUPERFLUOUS.

Do you believe me now, that applicable wisdom is opposite of human ‘knowledge’?

All that technology is it has become because of humanity’s unawareness of our ONE God running the place and being everything from the fly to the mountain.

Technology means crutches for un-believers, for Jews (those who know God) will soon take advantage of the all paid-for ride of their lives to the point when the remainder of humanity drop their crutches, too.

It is so close, closer than ’soon’, in fact, AT HAND.
