One of the questions women most frequently have regarding makeup is how to apply makeup for everyday wear. The key to applying makeup for everyday wear is do so in a way that does not look like you are wearing makeup at all. Everyday makeup applications should apply the principle of subtlety and moderation.

Before starting be sure to wash your face and apply a moisturizer to help your foundation glide on evenly. Choosing the right colors for your eyes is equally as important. Depending on the time of day or the function you are attending will help you decide which types of shades you should be using. Subtlety is very important in how to apply makeup for everyday wear. While special occasions may require a more dramatic look, everyday wear lends itself more to subtle makeup applications that enhance your best features while simultaneously minimizing your undesirable features. For everyday wear you want to apply your makeup in a way that is not obvious but does improve your appearance. Using complementary shades that work well with your skin tones are some of the best ways to create a subtle yet beautiful appearance.

Knowing how to apply makeup for everyday wear also requires the principle of moderation. Again nighttime activities or special occasions may present the opportunity to use an abundance of makeup to create a more dramatic look but this is not attractive if used during inappropriate occasions such as running errands during the day. You may wish to use several products such as mascara, eye liner, eye shadow, lip liner, lipstick and blush but it’s important to not go over the top with any of these products and use it excessively.

Chest hair removal is becoming an increasingly popular option for those looking for permanent hair removal. While chest hair is often a sign of masculinity, it can be very embarrassing for men with excessive chest hair. Many men are self-conscious of excessive chest hair. Fortunately, there’s a simple solution.

With 4-5 one-hour laser treatments, men can have the chest they’ve always wanted. There’s no reason to put up with the pain of waxing. Simply visit your local laser hair removal clinic.

There are many types of laser hair removal systems that you can choose from. Each laser hair removal system has specific advantages and disadvantages depending on your skin and hair color. The three main laser hair removal systems include the ND Yag, Ruby, and Diode lasers.

The ND Yag laser is considered to be more effective when treating dark or tanned skin. It is also especially useful when treating coarser hair. For many, this may be a good solution for chest hair removal. One of the popular ND Yag lasers is the Candela GentleLase Plus.

The Ruby laser is best suited for those with lighter skin. It’s small spot size makes it good for smaller areas. The Ruby laser provides for a more comfortable treatment. Some common ruby lasers include the EpiTouch and the Epilaser

The Diode laser features a longer wavelength, giving it an advantage in treating a wide variety of skin types.

The Alexandrite is a unique laser that can be customized to treat hair with different degrees of coarseness. This is achieved through a versatile range of spot sizes. Another advantage of the Alexandrite lasers is that they are fast. They can remove male chest hair in about 30-40 minutes.

All of these lasers are good. However, your technician will be able to tell you which type of laser would be best for your particular skin and hair type.

What is Acne?

Acne is a chronic disorder of the hair follicles and sebaceous glands. Some of the characteristics of acne include black heads, pimples, cysts, infected abscesses, and rarely scarring. Acne usually occurs during adolescence in both men and women. To be more specific, acne starts during puberty and tends to get worse for people with oily skin. Acne badly affects teenage boys. Only mild to moderate forms of acne occur in middle-aged women. Acne can be seen most commonly on the face. The other places where it can occur include the neck, chest, back, shoulders, scalp, and upper arms and legs. Most forms of acne are the result of heredity and hormonal problems and has nothing to do with a harmful diet or poor hygiene.

Types of acne

Acne starts in a similar way for all but can take different forms and can react in a unique way according to the body conditions of the individual. A basic lesion called the comedo is the begining of acne. The comedo is an enlarged hair follicle plugged with oil and bacteria residing under the surface of your skin, that waits for the right conditions to grow into an inflamed lesion. Whenever the skin produces more oil, the bacteria grows within the swollen follicle. The surrounding skin becomes increasingly inflamed as your white blood cells fight against the intruders. Two main types of acne include non-inflammatory acne and inflammatory acne.

Non-inflammatory acne

Closed comedo:

If the plugged follicle stays below the surface of the skin, the lesion is called a closed comedo. This usually appears on the skin as small, whitish bumps. This condition is otherwise called as whitehead.

Open comedo :

If the plug enlarges and pushes through the surface of the skin, the lesion is called an open comedo. The dark appearance of the plug is not due to dirt, but due to the buildup of melanin, the pigmentation element of the skin. This condition is otherwise called as blackhead.

Inflammatory acne

Papule:

This appears on the skin as a small, firm pink bump. The papules are tender in nature and are often considered an intermediary step between non-inflammatory and clearly inflammatory lesions.

Pustule:

These are small round lesions that are inflamed and contain visible pus, which appear red at the base with a yellowish or whitish center. Pustules do not contain a large amount of bacteria. The inflammation is caused by chemical irritation from sebum components such as fatty free acids.

Cyst:

These are large pus-filled lesions that are usually present deep within the skin. The cysts are very painful lesions, as they are inflamed. Cysts form as a result of the contents of a comedo spilling over the surrounding skin and due to the response of the local immune system in producing pus. The cysts often leave deep scars.

Acne conglobata:

This is a rare but serious form of inflammatory acne that develops primarily on the back, buttocks, and chest. In addition, to the presence of pustules and cysts, there may be severe bacterial infection.

Symptoms

The common symptoms of acne include persistent, recurrent red spots or swellings on the skin known as pimples. The pimples become inflamed and get filled with pus. The pimples usually occur on the face, chest, shoulders, neck, or upper portion of the back. Some of the other symptoms include dark spots with open pores at the center, which are known as blackheads, bulged spots under the skin without openings, which are known as whiteheads, and red swellings or lumps filled with pus, which are known as pustules. The pustules can develop from blackheads or whiteheads. Inflamed fluid-filled lumps under the skin known as cysts are also a symptom of acne. These cysts can become as large as an inch across.

It’s important to develop a smile that delivers a balanced message between “I’m happy you noticed me,” and “I wasn’t born yesterday so don’t even think that you just won round one.”

In other words, you want a smile that is bright, alive, and attractive without making
you look like a grinning idiot. And that’s easier to do than you might think.

A good smile is like a good makeup concealer; it can cover up a face that might not
be as attractive as you wish it was, or it can draw attention away from some other
part of your body that you don’t necessarily want him looking at for the moment.
Developing a good smile is just like developing any other character trait. It takes
practice and here’s how you get it.

Go into any room where there is a mirror and where you can be alone. Bedroom,
bathroom, it doesn’t matter. Then stand in front of the mirror and smile. Smile wide,
smile big, smile hard. Make funny faces and laugh at yourself. Think about funny
things.

Notice the difference when you smile naturally over something humorous and when
you force a smile to appear. Smile until your face hurts, take a break and then start
smiling again.

Try to spend at least 30 minutes every day practicing your smile until you can paint it
on your face with no effort at all.

If you can’t hit your stride and are unable to find a smile that “works” seek some help
from people who smile for a living. Seriously, go to the magazine store, buy some
glamour and Hollywood magazines, and bring them back with you to your smile
room. Leaf through the magazines until you find a smile you like and then practice,
practice, practice until that smile appears whenever you need it.

Think for a moment about all the people you know that Stand Out from their peers.

Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky and Tiger Woods may come to mind. Singers like Madonna, Paul McCartney, Pavarotti, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald. Actors like Tom Cruise, Betty Davis, Merrill Streep: so many names - so many standouts.

The question then becomes, How is it or what is it about people like these, that make them stand out?

A simple answer might be, Jordan or Gretszky scored more points and personally won more games and awards than their teammates. Although that may be true, one might argue sports statistics are simply a byproduct or outcome from the practice of Standing Out. After all, actors and singers do not score points; nevertheless, they do win awards - when deemed Outstanding amongst their peers.

How about the people you actually know, that also standout? Who comes to mind? A former teacher, a coach, your parents, a scout leader or perhaps your favorite boss? The fact is, everyone can recall people they know [and do not know] who unquestionably Stand Out. Moreover, the important issue here is that one need not be famous or infamous to differentiate one’s self or Stand Out.

The trouble for many people is they misinterpret what they see in exceptional individuals. Simply put, standouts make it look easy. At times, effortless. In reality, however, few things in life are ever easy, least of all, effortless. Should we be surprised then, to expect failure from those with this unrealistic belief? No.

Granted, some of us are blessed with more natural talent than others and so for those fortunate, the road to ’standout status’ is far less difficult. The irony, though, is that, more often than not, the more talented individuals put more time, effort and dedication into their discipline compared to others. The Biography Channel confirms this with almost every episode. Therefore, perhaps we might begin here, to better understand, the fundamental ideology of the ‘Stand-Out’ Principle.

Stand-Out Principle #1: Goals

A motivational speech would not be a motivational speech, if it did not talk about the importance of Goals. There… I’ve said it! We’ve all heard it before. Many believe, ad nauseam. But regardless of how many times some may tire of hearing it, the importance of Goal-Setting, as it relates to Standing Out, can never be diminished.

Whether it’s a Stanley Cup, an Academy Award, a certain income or the next sale, standout individuals without exception - that bears repeating… WITHOUT EXCEPTION - have goals. They’re goals are Clear, Specific and Defined. Exhaustive studies done over the last couple of decades on the highest achieving, highest income-earning men and women from around the world bear this fact out.

On the flipside, those without goals exist in a vacuum in the pursuit of nothing. Their chance to Stand Out is often realized only in their lack of achievement.

Stand-Out Principle #2: Purpose, Passion & Dedication

A Goal can never be a Goal unless there is a purpose for it. So too, there has to be a reason. Simply put, it has to mean something for the individual or there can also be no passion.

Standouts are driven by Purpose. They understand that Passion walks in lockstep with Purpose. They believe that purpose, passion and dedication are intrinsic to each other. Each one fuels the next drawing strength that serves to keep the individual ever focused on: a) the goal, b) the reason for it, and c) the benefits from it. There is nothing mysterious about this process, but there is nothing easy about it either - unless and until one believes in it and makes it part of who they are.

Stand-Out Principle #3: Attitude & Behavior

Clearly, there is no difficulty in having a great attitude and good behavior when things are going well. Even the least accomplished among us find it easy to be more positive when they are in their comfort zone. That said, herein is yet another hallmark difference that separates the standouts from the rest.

Standouts are never surprised by negative events or situations that interfere with their goals. In fact, they expect them - and often have a plan to overcome them. It is all part of the ‘learned discipline’ or as alluded to earlier, the practice of Standing Out.

Individuals like these, maintain a Positive Attitude, which determines how they react to adversity and change. They behave in a winning way regardless of how adverse the challenge is. That’s not to say they can’t be disappointed or have feelings of emotional setback. They do. After all, they are human.

The important point not to be missed here is that in times of challenge, they are never alone unlike others without direction or goals. They have a direction. They have a purpose. That never changes, even in the face of adversity. They remain steadfastly dedicated to their mission albeit fueled at times by hope, but the net result is they draw upon the strengths they possess or in simpler terms, the Stuff of the Stand-Out Principle - Positive Attitude, Positive Behavior, Purpose, Passion, Dedication and Goals.

What does all that do for them? It makes them more successful … It makes them Stand Out!

Some people love the idea of owning tanning beds. A bed in your home will allow you to tan whenever you want, day or night. You won’t have to drive across town or rush to get to the salon before they close. Although they can be expensive, if you tan regularly, the investment may be well worth the money in the long run.

3 Things to Look for in Tanning Beds

The Style of the Bed
You basically have two choices in the style of your bed: a traditional horizontal bed and a standing booth. Unless you have a room or large space to devote to a horizontal bed, you may want to consider a standing booth. These take up less space in your home and can be placed in a corner. Basically, your preference and the amount of space you have available will dictate this choice.

The Bulbs Used in the Bed

The type of tanning bed bulbs used in a bed are the most important feature. Beds use either UVA and UVB rays or UVA only. There is controversy over which bulbs are safer for your skin. There really is no safe way to tan, and you should take precautions to protect yourself from damage to your skin, regardless of the bulbs used.

You need to know exactly which kinds of bulbs are used in your bed when it is time to replace them. Bulbs aren’t interchangeable and you need to be sure to buy the right ones. Also, look at the placement of the bulbs. How easy will they be to replace? You will most likely be performing this task yourself and you want to be sure it will be easy to do.

Extra Features

The best extra features to look for include a face tanner and a cooling system. The face tanner will help you get the ultimate tan all over your body. These have specially placed bulbs in the facial area that direct light to this area, which is difficult to tan for some people.

A cooling system is important if you get easily over heated inside a bed. The cooling fan will keep your skin from getting too hot. Make sure you don’t overdo it in the bed with this feature. Just because you don’t feel the heat, doesn’t mean you aren’t tanning. Staying in the bed too long contributes to over exposure and can be dangerous for your skin.

Choices in Home Tanning Beds

Most home beds are traditional tan beds. These use typical bulbs that resemble fluorescent tubes. Another choice in beds are known as High Pressure Beds. These use high pressure quartz bulbs, rather than the traditional lamps. They are called high pressure because the gas in the bulb is slightly higher than the pressure in the atmosphere.

These beds allow you to tan on only one side at a time. You will need to turn over half way through your session. Many people find these to be more comfortable than traditional beds. These are normally found in salons, but you may come across one if you shop for used equipment.

Purchasing Used Tanning Beds

A used bed can be an affordable option to an expensive new home bed. In many cases, you can find a high quality bed at the price of a cheap bed. There are some things you should consider before purchasing a new bed:

o Make sure the bed you are considering meets the current federal and state safety regulations. These change often and you want to make sure the bed you buy is safe. A tanning salon owner is a good source of information regarding safety regulations. The internet is another good source of information, as most states post regulations for salon owners.

o Find out how often the bed was used. If it was originally used in a salon, it has probably gotten quite a bit of use. Sometimes beds that have been purchased for home use end up getting very little use. These can be great, giving you a little used bed at a substantially reduced price.

o Compare the price difference of the used bed with a brand new bed. The bigger the difference, the better for you.

o Ask about the working condition and any repairs that have been done. Also ask when the bulbs were last replaced and about the maintenance that has been done. You want a bed that has been properly maintained.

o Ask if there is any time left on the warranty.

Acne is a very common skin disorder which has become problem for all ages. The teen years can be tough and sometimes even after passing those adolescent years acne may not leave you alone. After passing through that testing phase of acne you have to clear another milestone of the scars left behind due to acne. Acne may leave you at some point or other but the scars become very visible and your face is the one which gets most affected.

There are different types of acne scars which causes severe damage to your skin

Ice-pick scars are mainly seen on the cheek and are mostly small and can be shallow or deep. These can sometimes be hard or soft to touch. The soft scars can be worked upon by stretching and the same cannot be done to the hard ice-pick scars.

Depressed fibrotic scars in comparison to ice-pick scars are very large which has sharp edges and steep sides. The metamorphosis of ice-pick scars leads to depressed fibrotic scars with the passage of time.

Soft scars as the name suggest is soft to touch and like a mountain erupts from the skin. They are small, circular and very linear in shape.

Atrophic macules are small but when it happens to surfaces the face it becomes very big. Over a period of time they may turn blue and dry out to be less conspicuous.

Follicular macular atrophy is usually seen on the chest or back of a person. These look similar to whiteheads which can be seen slightly raised above the surface.

Home treatments to remove scars are

*Use of sandalwood paste on the scars can help in getting the scars fade away
*Sandalwood paste mixed with black gram paste also helps
*Rubbing ice cubes helps in tightening your skin and making it young
*Sandalwood paste mixed with rose water kept overnight on your scar also helps, if it does not make your skin dry
*Acne pores can be tightened by applying cucumber juice
*Rubbing sliced tomato on your skin helps in closing the open pores and saves you from oily skin
*The other treatment may include skin surgery, skin grafting and laser treatment too

You’ve Got to Believe

Christian needed a new car.

The car he was driving was on its last leg. He wasn’t sure when it would die, but he was sure that it would die. He needed a new car and he needed it fast.

But how was he going to get the money? Right now, his money was too tight. At the end of the month, he didn’t have an extra dime left after paying his bills. How would he be able to pay a car payment each month? One good thing about the car that he did drive was that he owned it and therefore didn’t have to worry about any monthly payments.

Every time he got behind the wheel of the car he stressed about it. He prayed that he would get where he had to go and back safely without incident. But even though he prayed, he spent the entire time while he was in the car, stressing that it might, at any minute, break down. He couldn’t remember if his AAA had expired or not.

Then, one day, Christian realized that it made absolutely no sense for him to stress over whether or not he could afford a new car. So, he made the decision to let the stress go. He decided that he was going to simply pray on it, and trust that God would do the rest.

He prayed and said, Lord, I thank you for my new car. I thank you for the money that I need to pay for the car. I thank you for allowing me to easily and effortlessly pay for the car each month and for having the car that I desire.

And then, he let it go!!!

When I say, he let it go, I mean, he let it go. He didn’t think about it again. He simply KNEW that he was going to have a new car, and that he would have the money to easily pay for it. He made the decision to not worry about it. Just trust that God had it all covered.

The next time he got in the car, he didn’t worry about it breaking down. He trusted that God would allow him to get where he had to go and back again.

He started going out to Used Car Lots and looking for his next car. He didn’t find the car that he wanted, but he now knew what make and model he was going to havea Honda Civic. He liked the car and figured he would like one in green. Yeah, that’s the ticket. A green, Honda Civic.

Well, I simply have to tell you what happened to Christian. You probably won’t believe me. Or, if you do, you will think it was a huge coincidence. But trust me when I tell you, it is not a coincidence and it did happen. In fact, it could happen for you in a similar way if first you made the decision to trust that God will bring to you all the things you desire.

Check this outwithout even trying, Christian received a promotion on his job, three days after deciding he wanted a green Honda Civic. He received the promotion because someone left the company, unexpectedly, and he was the only person who knew the job and could readily step into the new position with minimal training.

Four days after his promotion, he received his income tax return for $2,100.00. This was amazing because he thought he wasn’t going to receive it. He had not received an income tax refund for the past three years because it was always offset due to the fact that he owed money on his student loan. But now, here he was receiving his tax return, after 3 years of not receiving it.

How happy Christian is and how thankful and blessed he feels. He immediately took that check and found a green Honda Civic, used it as a down payment, and can now easily and effortlessly pay for his new car with the additional money he is receiving due to his promotion.

I know you are thinking, YEAH, RIGHT. How “coincidental.”

But it’s not a coincidence. If you have been a subscriber to this newsletter for any length of time, you have heard me say many times that there are no such things as coincidence.

Christian received exactly what he asked God for. Christian received exactly what he BELIEVED would come to him.

Once you decide on something that you want, and ask and thank God for supplying your need, all that is required of you is to BELIEVE that you will receive it.

OK, your turn. Think of something you desire right now. Ask God for it and believe that you have already received it. Trust that it is on its way to you, right now. I don’t care if you don’t have “evidence” of it right in front of you, just trust that God will supply your need. Then, let it go.

If you truly believe that your desire will be given to you, it will.

Try it. You’ll like it.

Ralph Waldo Emerson very rightly said, “One of the most wonderful things in nature is a glance of the eye; it transcends speech; it is the bodily symbol of identity”. Eye is cosidered to be an integral party of one’s beauty and we at times completely ignoring taking care of it. The unhygenic environment around us along with inevitable aging deteoriates the beauty of eye unless we make a concious effort to take care of it. Here are few healthy tips which will help making your eyes an asset to you whole of your life.

Some valuable Tips for Eye Care

1) All of us have tendancy of forming dark circles just under our eyes. You can fix these dark circles by putting just two slices of potato over your eyes for 20 minutes. Trust me, you will be glad with the results once you take off the potatoes.

2) Another technique to get rid of dark circles is by applying warm tea bags over your eyes for 15 minutes. This method works too.

3) After having a taxing day, your eyes get tired too like your body and mind. So do make it a point to refresh your eyes. For refreshing your eyes, try squeezing cotton pads out of ice water and place them on eyelids for at least 20 minutes. This will give a soothing effect to your eyes.

4) Other traditional and well known remedy is to place cucumber slices on eyelids while relaxing in hot bath. This will be like pampering yourself to the acme, treating yourself like a queen.

5) To make sure your eye shadow last all day, apply a layer of concealer before applying eye shadow. Add a dash of mascara to your eye lashes to give final touch.

6) Last but not the least, dont forget to take off all the make-up from your face once you go to bed specially from and near your eyes.

Random Tip for great, juicy lips!

. Wet a tea bag and press it against your lips for thirty seconds. The tannin acid in the tea helps to repair damaged skin cells and softens rough lips. See the difference. Put a sexy lipper, and there you are!

Random Tip for chappy lips

. Apply vaseline and drinks lots of water. Water helps your skin glow all the time. If vaseline doesnt work for you, then try some chapstick which doesnt have petroleum. Carmex is one other good option besides vaseline which does heal your lips. But vaseline works in most of the cases. Also, keep brushing your lips and take of the dead skin from your lips and apply vaseline again. Be regular in it and you will have lovely lips again!
