Serious wine collectors prefer diamond wine racks for storing their treasured bottles of wine. Whether a wine lover’s tastes run to a rich, savory burgundy or a light, citrus toned Pinot Grigio, they all know the trick to any wine cellar is having ample space. Diamond wine racks provide ample storing capacity and proper horizontal storage conditions. Purchasing this style of rack is affordable and smart. You can easily turn your basement into a wine cellar in little time. Or display them right in plain view for guests to appreciate and marvel at.

Many bottles of wine must age from a few weeks to a number of years. Aging wine requires a cool area, moisture to keep corks from drying out, and no light. If these conditions are not met, the wine can develop sour, vinegary flavors. Not fun! If you line a basement wall with two or three unique wine racks, the possibilities for wine storage become unlimited. As air temperatures below ground remain constant and humidity is often in the air, a basement creates a perfect area for wine storage.

Unique wine racks are handcrafted from exquisite pieces of wood — and some of the most unique ones are made out of metal shapes, such as stylish spirals. These are made out of wrought iron or steel usually, which can be shaped into beautiful artistic designs.

When it comes to the wooden racks, redwood, pine, maple, and oak are utilized when creating wine racks of high quality. The outer frame of the wine rack forms a tall rectangle. This rectangle holds a criss-cross pattern of braces that form a diamond pattern on the inside of the rack’s frame. Each diamond section is capable of holding up to sixteen 750ml bottles of wine, twelve bottles of champagne, or nine magnums (1 liters). With twenty-four sections typically included in one large rack, diamond wine racks can hold more than 200 bottles of wine per unit.

Diamond wine racks range in height, but are usually sixty to seventy-two inches high. The average wine rack stands floor to ceiling. The racks tend to average thirteen inches deep, easily fitting an average bottle of wine. Diamond wine racks can range in width to suit your needs. You may expect any rack you choose to hold far more wine than you will need to store for your personal use.

For the serious collector, diamond wine racks can hold enough wine bottles to last a number of years. Your new abilities as a wine connoisseur are likely to cause some jealous comments from close friends. It is human nature to feel a slight touch of pride in becoming the envy of others! Use diamond wine racks or other unique designs and show off your collection today.

When it comes to getting a good night’s sleep, the possibilities are many. There are regular, spring mattresses, water beds, sleep systems, roll-away beds and more. One possibility that is gaining a lot of attention lately is the air mattress bed.

There are a number of different kinds of air beds, too. Some are just right for full-time sleeping, others are more for sleepovers and camping trips. Either way, the air bed is more than a fad, it’s become the way thousands get a good night sleep and the numbers climb higher every day.

For those who want to get rid of that old spring mattress and go for something that offers more comfort, an air mattress sleep system might be in order. There are a number of advantages to this type of mattress, too. They include:

* Unlike regular beds whose springs can bend and sag with time, an air bed provides cushioning for the entire body. Those systems that involve individual air chambers can provide some serious hands-on ability to adjust the bed for perfect comfort. If one part of your body requires more support than another, the chamber system will allow for that set up.

* Easy adjustments. Since many air beds come with remote control technology, the chambers can be easily tweaked for prime comfort.

* Removal of steel springs. For some people, no matter how comfortable an old fashion bed is, they can still feel the springs. An air bed lets you get rid of the squeaky, poking implements for a more restful, and quiet, night’s sleep.

* Some air bed systems even allow for different users to adjust the settings. This means one side of the bed can be firm and the other soft. By offering different zones for control, both husband and wife can have the bed of their dreams.

* Better conforms to the body for proper sleep positioning. Those who suffer from back and neck problems will appreciate an air bed’s ability to provide the support they need where they need it.

* Reduces pressure points. The pressure points of springs found on regular beds go away, which translates to less rolling and moving during the night. This, of course, equates to a better night’s sleep.

Air mattress technology has come a long way since its first introduction. These mattresses are the wave of the future, giving users the ultimate control over their bed and even allowing them to change the feel to suit their needs on any given night. Simple and easy to use, an air mattress can serve any user well. Plus, there are even other options for air mattresses.

Anyone who loves to camp, but hates sleeping on the ground will love a portable air mattress. These are also great for children’s sleepovers or unexpected company. Simple and easy to use, many come with their own inflation systems, so you don’t have to worry about being breathless.

Whether they’re for full-time sleeping or for a stay over, air mattresses provide some solid options for making sure you and your guests get a good night sleep – indoors or under the stars.

In the many workshops I have done in the last 10 years I have occasionally come across individuals in the crowd who espoused a philosophy that went something like this:

“Suffering, as manifested through say illness, abuse, violence, natural disasters, loss of a loved one, death etc. are important learning experiences that are to be treasured, invited into one’s life, embraced, accepted as a normal part of life, accepted as part of our journey to becoming more enlightened and loving human beings, and part of our purpose in being in this life”.

Whether this is you or not I’m sure that you are familiar with this kind of thinking. It derives from many of the world’s religions and may take varying forms of the above statement.

In summary one can condense the above statement into one line which goes like this:

“Suffering is supposed to make one’s life better”.

So is that really true? Well if you recall some experience of suffering that you’ve endured and “get right into it”, that is recall it in its fullest details, then kindly notice how you feel.

I’m sure, that is if you can feel anything at all, that you will feel hurt, pain, sadness, loss, emptiness, anxious, depressed, confused, bewildered, angry, frustrated, heaviness, weighed down, helplessness, feel like giving up, like a victim and so on.

So did you get any learning out of that?

Do you feel like the quality of your life just improved?

Do you feel like a more enlightened or loving human being?

Do you feel that this is what you came here for, to be a victim?

Is this an experience that you really want to embrace or invite into your life?

Well if you’re honest with yourself I think the answer to all the above questions is likely to be NO, correct?

So what is the purpose of suffering then? Well actually there is no purpose, at least not one that will benefit you.

So who or what does it benefit?

If you want me to be honest with you it only benefits “that” which seduces you into giving up your power, your vital life energy and becoming a victim.

So what is “that”?

Well, believe it or not, “that’ represents all of the beliefs that you have become conditioned with, which live in your mind/body, which deplete your vital life energy and your creative power, which creates the illusion of you as a defective human being and which most importantly deprives you of the experience of your Divine Self.

I know that this may be too much for your to swallow in one go so I only ask you to ponder what I have said here. It will most definitely challenge the very spiritual beliefs you have spent your life “acquiring” from others.

On the other hand what I’ve said may actually resonate at some deep level within you.
If that is the case then notice how you feel about that.

This is an eternal question. Search engine optimizers would remain glued to their computer screen to take in the first hint of any PageRank update as and when that occurs. And when it occurs, it will be an anxious wait till the dust settles, before scurrying off to rework ways to claw back in ranking in case the new PR reduces.

Why so much bother? Does PageRank really matter? The short answer is yes, PageRank does matter, but not as much as it is made out to be. Let us talk things over.

What we know
The first lesson on PageRank will be an unquestionable reference to what Google says. According to Google [http://www.google.com/corporate/tech.html]. The underlying idea is to provide surfers as accurate search results as possible. The ‘life of a Google query’ though lasting barely a second, is a mind-boggling go-between through several stages before an answer is delivered.

What we do not know
Howsoever revealing may Google’s explanations be, the bottom-line remains that for most of us, calculation of PR continues to be an enigma. Does any one know for sure how PR works? Ian Rogers of IPR Computing has in this essay [http://www.seochat.com/seo-tools/future-pagerank/] will be.)

Why the hype
And herein lies a superb marketing strategy. Ever wondered why Google thought it pertinent to let PageRank displayed in its toolbar? On the face of it, there is no need really, except to ’stoke’ the fire of chasing a mirage. You see a mirage as much as you know how PR is calculated. But try as best as you would, you cannot decide your PR.

In the process Google gains. An enormous volume of writings (like this one) centers around Google. Whatever Google does is news in an instant. There is a whole lot of ‘pure’ Google-watchers out there whose job it is to only report on the giant search company. Publicity sans cost, not bad that.

The link companies
Google’s wish notwithstanding, there is no denying that PageRank mystery has given birth to thousands of link-related business. Since Google is explicit in explaining at how it looks at links, it has been easy for link-making companies to work out their preliminary business strategy. Beyond that it’s purely rat race of garnering share of link-hungry websites. All the time, Google remains unfazed, except occasionally churning it topsy-turvy to keep PR mystery alive.

What would you do
You need not overly bother about PageRank. Do not get me wrong! PageRank is very real. What is not is your ability to alter it any sooner. There should not be any express-effort to ‘acquire’ links. Instead, maintain focus on adding and enriching your web content, for that and that only would create a permanence of interest among your viewers over a period of time.

Emphasis must be on creating value to your viewers’ time, so that there is always something new to learn, something more to know. Along the way if you pick up a good link or two every now and then, that will be more than welcome.

What, if you are in hurry
Not everyone is destined to wait for a hike in PageRank. Then again, even a high PR may not instantly lead to bigger traffic. So pretty soon, you may ponder how long it will be to profit from your web venture. Profit may be to earn publicity (blogs for example), to make your readers giving consent to your paid newsletter, to sell your products or services (or even selling others’ products or services), or suchlike.

If indeed you want to cut short your long wait so as to profit from your web venture, Google has a ready solution. It is about targeted keyword advertising program, called Google AdWords. In sharp contrast with PageRank, Google lets AdWords users to actually control their accounts in order to attain more visibility. But that is another story for another day.

Professional stock options traders use the term lean to refer to one’s perception about the directional strength of the stock. When you own a stock option and intend to hold it for a period of time, you are aware that you will probably be holding it while it goes up and while it goes down.

This means that at any given moment in time, you might have a different opinion of the potential movement of that stock. Knowing this, there is a way to address your present level of confidence or “lean.” You do this by your choice of which option you sell.

While it is true that the at-the-money option has the most amount of extrinsic value, it might not always be the ideal option to sell in every situation.

For instance, if you feel that the stock itself has a very high chance of producing capital appreciation above the potential amount of premium you could receive from selling an at-the-money call, then sell an out-of-the-money-call so you can allow yourself a little more room to the upside on the stock.

For example, let’s say the stock is trading at $27.00. Normally, you would sell the 27.5 calls at say $1.00. If the stock were to rise quickly and eclipse the $28.50 mark, then with the buy-write strategy, your position would have maxed out at $28.50, and you would have a $1.50 one month gain. Not bad, but if the stock went to $29.50 then you would have missed out on another $1.00 profit. However, if we had sold the 30 calls for $.30 then we would have another outcome. You bought the stock at $27.00 and sold the 30 calls for $.30 and the stock goes to $29.50.

You would have made $2.50 in capital appreciation and $.30 in option premium for a total of a $2.80 return.

So, if you feel the stock has a real good shot at taking a run up, you can lean your position long by selling an out-of-the-money call.

If you have a more neutral view on your stock you would sell an at-the-money-call in order to receive a bigger premium which allows for greater downside protection if the stock trades down and higher potential profit if the stock becomes stagnant.

This strategy also works on the downside. If, by chance, you feel that the stock may trade down a bit during the life of the option, then you can sell an in-the-money-call. The effect of this would be to provide you with a little extra premium to cover more downside risk.

Remember when you sell an option you seek to capture extrinsic value. An in-the-money option not only has extrinsic value but also some intrinsic value.

When you feel that you want to lean your covered call strategy (buy-write) a little short, choose to sell an in-the-money call so you can also have some intrinsic value to cover your downside.

As an example, say your stock is trading at $29.00 and you feel that your stock may trade down a little but still remain in an uptrend cycle. You don’t want to get rid of the stock but you also don’t want to lose any money so you sell the 27.5 call at $2.00.

The stock starts to trade down and finishes at $26.00. If you had owned the stock naked, then you would have lost three dollars since you owned the stock at $29.00 and it closed at $26.00 on expiration.

However, because you sold the 27.5 calls at $2.00, you would only realize a $1.00 loss in the stock. The premium received will offset the loss due to the fact that you identified and adjusted for a likely move.

As you can see, the buy-write strategy can be altered to fit any directional view you have on your selected stock.

Finally, if you intend to use the buy-write strategy successfully, you generally need to sell the calls against your stock on a consistent, recurring interval, over a period of time.

This means that you will have to be prepared to roll your calls out to the next month come expiration. Sometimes, all you’ll need to do is to sell the next month out call.

A lot has changed since the days of matchmaking and escorted evenings out. Dating in the 21st century has taken many turns, among these the emerging popularity of meeting partners online.

Online dating has many benefits. The shy dater can open up and get to know a person without having to deal with first-date jitters that often come from fear of the unknown. By the time he or she meets the potential paramour, they have already established a comfort level that allows the date to flow much more smoothly.

At the other end of the spectrum, social butterflies love online dating because of the number of fish in the sea. With so many people to choose from, booking several dates in a short amount of time is easy. Online dating allows you to be discreet, and it also enables you to be choosy. You choose partners based on common interests gleaned from dating profiles. This is an attractive alternative to approaching a potential mate in a bar going on looks alone.

As the online dating community has grown, so too have the number of vendors willing to help you promote yourself. Professional writers and photographers offer services to assist you with your dating profile. They hawk services to help you attract more hits to your online profile, which obviously helps lead to more dating options.

Dating websites vary. Some require a fee to enjoy certain benefits, such as the ability to post a picture or short video. Other dating sites offer free private e-mail accounts and access to thousands of profiles without paying a dime. When engaging in online dating, however, it is important to exercise caution.

Remember that anyone with Internet access has access to these sites. It is virtually impossible for dating sites to weed out the bad seeds; the online dater must take care in setting up dates with strangers. When first meeting face-to-face, choose a public place. Don’t divulge too much information until you have a good idea of the person’s character. Be careful not to tell too much too soon. With a responsible attitude and an open mind, online dating can be fun, safe, and exciting.

It is estimated that over 4 million American men have low testosterone (hypogonadism). This is thought to be primarily responsible for impotence, depression, fatigue, excess body fat and osteoporosis.

Testosterone and DHEA (a precursor hormone for the manufacture of testosterone) slow production after the age of 40. Women have menopause and lose estrogen production over a relatively short period of time. For men, the production of testosterone continues to slow every year for the rest of their lives.

Testosterone is primary to maintain muscle mass

It is necessary for strong bones, to build cardiac muscle, promote coronary artery dilation and help regulate cholesterol. At low levels it may also play a part in the development of Alzheimer’s.

Part of the balancing act of nature is that all men have some estrogen in their body and all women have some testosterone.

As testosterone levels drop, estrogen levels rise because of an aromatase enzyme which converts testosterone to estrogen which is stored in fat cells. It is a vicious cycle because the fat cells themselves create more estrogen. The more over weight you are, the more enzyme is produced and the more fat you put on and more stress is put on the liver. It is the liver’s job to remove the excess estrogen from the body. Sadly, liver function also decreases as we age.

The brain detects the levels of estrogen and wrongly assumes that the corresponding level of testostrone is being produced – so that cuts down on the signals to produce more testostrone.

Increase Testosterone

Now you have to do something to increase testosterone. You have several choices. There are creams, gels, patches, injections, herbs and a few “miracle” cures.

According to Dr. Julian Whitaker -”…oral testosterone has the potential for liver dysfunction and a decrease in protective good cholesterol levels. He recommends that saw palmetto 120-360 mg daily to reduce the conversion of testosterone in dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Too much DHT has been linked to various health problems including prostate cancer.”

Why waste everyone’s time? Let’s skip the appetizers and get to the meaty stuff right now: The Morgan silver dollars poised to increase the most in value in the years ahead are the 1895, 1892-CC, 1894, 1878-CC, and the 1883-CC. Pretty bold prediction, eh? At this point, the reader now has three options: (1) Stop reading and act upon this information, (2) Stop reading and get on with life, or (3) Continue on, evaluate the analytical approach to identify the “Top Five” Morgan dollars, and then implement a variation of (1) or (2) above. If you’ve gotten this far, we encourage you to continue on with option (3).

First, a little background info on the Morgan silver dollar…

The Morgan silver dollar is today one of the most popular of all collector coins. First minted in 1878 following the passage of the Bland-Alison Act, the new dollar was named after its designer, George T. Morgan. Political pressure by powerful silver mining companies, in a gambit to stabilize the price of their commodity at artificially high levels, created the impetus driving the legislative action. Bland-Alison led to the overproduction of silver dollars, resulting in millions of these unused “cartwheels” languishing in bank and Treasury vaults. Indeed, few coins have ever been released under more dubious circumstances than Morgan silver dollars. Minting continued until 1904, and then again for one more year in 1921, when the series finally came to a close.

For decades thereafter, Morgan dollars were largely snubbed by hobbyists. Many dates, including those in mint state condition, could be obtained for as little as $1.00. This situation shifted dramatically in 1962, when the US government began selling original 1000-piece silver dollar Treasury bags to the public at face value. Stories of rare dollar finds circulated widely, touching off a veritable Morgan mania. Within a matter of months, all but a small fraction of the federally owned coins were transferred from government vaults to private hands, consequently expanding the Morgan dollar collector base far beyond anything seen previously.

Since then, Morgan silver dollars have proudly perched themselves atop the catbird seat of the numismatic world. Their physical size, availability, beauty, and historical significance have consistently attracted herds of new buyers. Numerous boom-turned-bust cycles have come and gone, sometimes driven by pure speculative motives, but from a long-term perspective, most Morgan dollar prices have trended somewhat positive.

Unlike some controversial promoters in the past, I do not propose purchasing Morgan silver dollars simply as investment vehicles. However, for collectors hoping to satisfy their numismatic yearnings AND acquire coins destined to be worth substantially more in the future, Morgan dollars do present a few opportunities. As noted above, as a whole, Morgans have gained moderately in value over the years. The crucial challenge, then, is to identify which members of this series have enjoyed the best growth patterns in the past. The underlying logic is clear: coins that have demonstrated the strongest gains over a long period of time are the coins best positioned to show similar price advancements with the continued passage of time.

In order to measure past performance and thus visualize Morgans most likely headed toward a bullish future, I developed a systematic approach. First, I researched individual Morgan dollar retail prices as they existed in 1950, for a broad range of conditions, and entered this data on a computer spreadsheet. Moving forward in time, values from the years 1980, 1995, and 2000 were likewise recorded. Finally, estimated selling prices in 2005 were juxtaposed with counterpart data from those earlier years. Because grading terminology has evolved over the 55 year period, certain assumptions were made to progressively track price movements throughout the time spectrum (e.g. an “Uncirculated” value in 1950 is equivalent to the “MS-60″ of today).

For each date and condition, compounded annual return rates were computed from 1950 to 2005. [Editorial note: compounded annual return rate is the accepted yardstick for comparing investment performance. Of course, coins do not grow at a guaranteed uniform rate, such as bonds do, but if a coin is purchased at a certain price, and that price is compared with the value of the coin at some later date, the compounded annual return rate can be calculated for the time period in between]. Return rate computations were made from 1980 to 2005, 1995 to 2005, and 2000 to 2005. For each Morgan dollar, the data was placed in tabular format. Next, I calculated a “composite” score for each date by averaging all the compounded return rates computed for that date. I then ranked all the “composite” scores. The Morgan silver dollars with the highest scores are as follows:

Date: Score:
1895 11.37
1892-CC 10.54
1894 10.43
1878-CC 10.28
1883-CC 10.25

So, it would appear, based on past performance over a period of 55 years, the 1895 is the Morgan silver dollar with the best hope of appreciating significantly in the years ahead, followed by the 1892-CC, 1894, 1878-CC, and 1883-CC. Not surprisingly, dollars of the Carson City Mint occupy 13 of the top 16 positions, thanks to persistent collectors scrambling for bona fide artifacts of the romantic American West. On the opposite end of the rankings, Morgan silver dollars having the bleakest long term prospects include the 1898, 1899-O, 1884, and the 1888-O, followed by the 1897 coming in dead last with a score of 2.66.

Anyone whose dual objective is to acquire Morgan silver dollars with a bullish future ought to begin looking at the “Top Five” above. Purchase coins in the best condition you can afford, but be sure the coins are clean, problem-free, and CERTIFIED by a reputable grading service. Be prepared to hold for at least five years. Morgan dollars have skyrocketed in value in the last three years, so some cooling off may be in order before the next upward cycle.

If a polling firm were to survey the population of US coin collectors, it is very possible that Morgan silver dollars would win the vote as the most appealing coin in American coinage history. These beautiful coins have been the heartbeat of the hobby for many years, with no retreat in sight. Ironically, these same coins spent the better part of a century hidden away in government vaults, unseen, unwanted, and unloved. My, how times have changed!

Americans have always seen themselves as independent and self-sufficient. The spirit of this nation has fostered the view that any American, willing to work hard and take some risk, could strive to achieve any future he wanted, including the Presidency of the United States. It’s a tantalizing picture but if it did ever exist, it is rapidly fading. We have gone from the greatest creditor nation to the greatest debtor nation. We have gone from superpower to supplicant. We are deteriorating from a nation of rugged individuals to a nation of dependents.

The big government statists have convinced most of the American people that our country’s greatness stems not from the qualities of its people but from the largess of its government. As the communist world falls apart and searches for ways to embrace capitalism and the free market, America is in the process of making its people as dependent on government as the worst of the socialist nations.

The old-time American idea that every individual is responsible for protecting himself, his family and his property has been replaced with government provided police forces and self-styled advocates who can only act after a crime has been committed and whose role seems to be preventing individual action rather than supporting it. We have the ridiculous situation in which the victim of a crime may be punished more severely than the perpetrator because he has violated some rule or regulation designed to protect the “rights” of the criminal.

The government is buying up huge tracts of land to “protect” it from the predation of its own citizens. It wants to develop a cradle to grave health scheme to foster medical dependence. It intrudes deeper into the education system each day in order to brainwash American children into believing that they cannot exist without the “nanny” government. Anyone who has trouble walking or talking or seeing or hearing or quitting booze or drugs or any of a vast panoply of ailments is made dependent for his survival on the government.

Communism was the great purveyor of the concept of dependency because it was necessary for the government to control the population from top to bottom and the easiest way to make someone obedient is to make them dependent. If the people have to look to the government for food, clothing, shelter, medical care, retirement benefits, education and personal protection the government effectively controls their lives. All the rulers need do is withhold those things to convince all but the most individualistic to toe the mark. Of course it is also necessary for the government to prevent anyone else from providing those services or their monopoly falls apart and the people will look elsewhere. The U. S. Postal service is a prime example.

It is clear that Social Security is also that kind of monopoly. Despite the dismal return on investment and the example of successful retirement systems outside of Social Security the government insists that 100% participation is necessary to insure success. It also insures dependency on government of a large segment of the population.

In the early 1980’s it was possible for certain non-federal government agencies to opt out of Social Security and develop their own retirement plan. The county government of Galveston, Texas was among the agencies that took advantage of this Foggy Bottom mental lapse and has developed a system that is so superior to Social Security that many participants will end their careers with a retirement payment that exceeds their former salary. They will also have a significant death benefit that goes to their estate as opposed to the two hundred fifty-five dollars that a few people will receive from the S/S system. In fact, the program is so good that the Feds are trying to force its closure and make its participants go back to Social Security. Sadly it was only a few years before the Federal government realized its error and closed the loophole and once again, the Social Security system became the only game in town.

We continue to have most of our public utilities controlled by government supported monopolies despite the fact that the economic and cultural conditions that spawned those monopolies have long since vanished. Even when the monopolies are broken up the government keeps its finger on the button so that free market forces are never allowed to prevail.

There may have been some perceived reason for monopoly protection of utilities in the early days of electric grids, natural gas distribution, telephone service and the like. The investments involved were huge and the uncertainty of the outcome made them a very risky enterprise. But that doesn’t explain why, after decades of use and becoming a part of every day life, the government continues to keep control.

When the Federal Communications Commission emerged, radio transmitters were huge, power sucking monsters and the frequency discrimination was so poor that it was believed that there would only be one or two stations in every market. With this in mind the doctrine of broadcasting “in the public interest” was formed to try to insure that the airwaves would never be controlled by monolithic vested interests. Can that relate to today’s world where powerful, inexpensive transmitters are comparatively tiny, directional antennas are available and advertising revenues support most stations? Why does the FCC continue to regulate broadcasting when technology exists to separate stations and prevent interference? It can only be because the government refuses to give up the power to influence mass communications.

In case you think that government no longer seeks to impose and control monopolies, witness the cable television industry. There was never a good reason for government to get involved in restricting cable providers but they just couldn’t resist. Anyone who complains about the size of their cable bill and the lousy service they get can thank the government agencies that prevented competition in the industry.

In 2001 California’s Democrat dominated government tried to sneak some modification of the utility monopoly status quo, thinly disguised as “deregulation,” into electricity production. In fact it only deregulated the purchase price of power from suppliers and not the price paid by consumers. When the predictable disaster occurred they then crowed happily about how it proved that the “free market” approach doesn’t work. Unfortunately, the Republicans were too impotent to even argue the point and so the statists were able to present the failure as an indictment of all deregulation.

Despite attempts at “deregulation” the U.S. transportation system remains very monopolistic. Governments build the roads, airports, port facilities and even the railroad tracks. There is no entrepreneurial spirit, no competition to force change to new technology, no incentive to improve because bureaucracy has no interest in the future except as it applies to government funding.

The ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act) has created a whole cottage industry of attempting to make every disabled person, regardless of handicap, able to do everything that can be done by every other person. Those with disability are no longer encouraged to make exceptional efforts to overcome their situation, instead the “Great Nanny” government steps in and tries to equalize everything, usually by dragging down those without disability rather than attempting the much more difficult task of raising those with handicaps.

“Political Correctness” is a socialist attempt to destroy the First Amendment by invoking the protection of some helpless minority as a reason to restrain free speech. A subset is the new affection for inveighing against the so-called “hate crimes.” What is really sought is an ability for the government to demonize unpopular opinion. The whole movement is an attempt to allow an offended person to use the power of government to silence the offender.

The once solid fortress of free speech, the college campus, has become a cesspool of groups whose only reason for existence is to insure that no speech reflecting unpopular (by student or faculty standards) opinion ever sees the light of day. Socialist/statist professors are allowed to make the most outrageous statements with impunity while those in opposition are effectively muzzled.

This kind of collectivist thinking could never have produced a nation like the United States but it may well destroy it. We will soon reach the point where the bottom fifty-plus percent of workers will pay NO income taxes (they pay less than four percent today). Once that is achieved the statists will have permanent control of this nation because they will be able to apply Marxist wealth distribution with impunity. They will be taking tax money from the successful minority and giving it to the unsuccessful majority. The class war will then be over, the dependent class will have won.

Kids Internet Safety – Be Careful!

The Internet and Computers are becoming a necessity in our homes. Nearly everything we do be it registering a new appliance, paying bills, finding a movie, restaurant or an amusement park for location and hours, is easy online. Why “let your fingers do the walking” in the yellow pages as the phone book companies used to say, when you can find it with a few keystrokes and click of the mouse online?

Becoming computer literate is a must say California education standards. Even the 1st through 6th Grade and Middle Schools have computer labs! As a research and learning tool the computer, with the Internet and it’s unlimited resources if used in a safe manner can make all the difference in how well your child does on homework and assignments.

There is temptation and danger Online

When kids sit down at the computer the temptation to venture out and surf away from homework into chat, blogs and MySpace is extremely high. What kid wouldn’t want to see what their friends are talking about, listen to music and make their own free webpage? MySpace.com is a good example of the most inviting of these temptations. Nearly every internet savvy kid knows about MySpace. Opening with “what’s your MySpace?” when they meet a new friend in person is very common as part of getting to know each other. A local English teacher who also works in the computer lab guestimates one in four of her 8th grade students has their own MySpace.

MySpace.com- Danger Danger Danger!

There are countless articles on how kids have gotten in trouble and endangered their lives by turning to MySpace as a way, initially to get to know other kids their age. Read your kids articles about teens who have really gotten in hot water with MySpace to help them understand how persistant and dangerous the preditors really can be.

For an example of a good kid in trouble read the New York Times story of Justin Berry, who at age 13, innocent, lonely and computer-wise, behind the closed door of his room quickly exposed himself to countless pedophiles in a matter of minutes on MySpace.com. The scariest part of this Report was the video interview with the then 18 year old where he warns others of how much his experience “messed him up”.

How do you keep your child interested in learning, doing productive things and away from the dangers online? That’s a good question because the way they see it all the other kids are interacting on MySpace, sharing their favorite music and expanding their circle of friends there.

Begin by Educating Yourself and Your Kids!

*
Read this CBS News Report to see how to protect Kids on MySpace.
*
Sit with your child when they are on their MySpace.
*
If they switch screens or minimize the page and refuse to show you every time you try they are hiding something. This is when you have to either get software filters or a software program that tracks every keystroke, every page, every website they go to, to find out who they are chatting with and what they are saying.
*
Visit a page we here at JerSooz made a few years ago for more information on Kids Safety. Towards the bottom you will find a table with links that are designed help you get the information you need to keep your kids safe on the Internet.
*
Another option is to use your Browser History, Chat History, Cookies and Temporary Internet Files to figure out where they go yourself. See below on how to do this.

Use Cookies- From the Start button go to Search, then Files and Folders type in Cookies and Search Now. Usually they are found in the C Drive of our computer. There you can click on any of the files that have a suspicious name to see what websites they might have visited.

Check for saved images- Another thing most kids do is save pictures from the people they talk to and websites they enjoy. This is a way to get an idea of what they are really interested in when they are not telling you everything.

The Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported more than 2,600 incidents last year of adults using the Internet to entice children. With numbers like that, you’d think all parents would be hovering over their kids, demanding to know everything they’re doing online. Check out your kids’ and all their friends Chat and MySpace profiles.

Do yourself a favor and make sure their Login and Password are set on automatic when your child goes into chat and MySpace online. Even if you are accused of invading their privacy it is worth it to pretend you are them a few times and see what sort of conversations they have online and whom with.

You might be amazed and upset by who you find yourself chatting with and what is said but do not break your cover just yet! Above all things remember you are doing this to protect your kids safety. By doing this you will either find that your child is the perfect innocent kid just having fun online or…get enough proof that they need more strict guidelines, rules, parental controls, or to have the internet taken away until they can get a handle on it. It’s for their own good!

Did You Know How Easily Your Location Can Be Found Online?

You are not annonymous online and your address can easily be found. This, of course means your kids on the internet in your home can be found by outsiders. It also means that you are responsible for trouble they might get into on your internet connection!

It’s simple, really, every internet connection has an identifying number that shows where your internet connection is. IP or Internet Protocol addresses show in chats and when you send an email. Want to see how easy it is to find someone with their IP Address? Start with your own IP address, Visit GeoBytes IP Address Locater page, and see for yourself!
