If you want to update the interior of your home, one of your best options is to install a home theater. But if this sounds like something that interests you, there are a couple of options that you will need to consider. Home theater installation can be done in one of two ways.

First off, if you are looking to save money and are the handy man type, you may want to consider installing your own home theater. This is not a difficult task if you have a little bit of skill, as well as some patience. In most cases, you will be able to complete most jobs with ease. Where you may run into a problem is when you are trying to wire your system. The best way to get around this is by following the directions to a T. This way, you do not get off course and you are ensured of a 100% accurate job upon completion.

When you install your own home theater, you have a lot of options as to what equipment to buy. You can purchase a “home theater in a box” setup which provides you with everything you need. This is a great idea of you don’t know what components you want or you simply want the convenience of one stop shopping and the assurance that all your components will fit and work together.

If you prefer to buy the pieces separate then you should do some research before hitting the stores. Perhaps you have a favorite piece you want for your home theater - if this is a must have you should figure that into your budget first and then go looking for the other pieces that will fit into the remainder of your budget. Checking out components at a few different stores before you jump in and buy can help you get a better deal and a better understanding of what you want.

If you do not want to install your own home theater for one reason or the next, you should check into having a professional do the job for you. Most of the time, whoever you buy your equipment from will also be able to set everything up for you. The main advantage of having a professional complete the project is that you know the job will be done correctly. Also, they can make suggestions as to what sort of set up you should use. The only downside to hiring a professional is that you will have to pay for their services.

Overall, home theater installation is not a difficult task. You can either take the job on yourself, or get the help of the professional. Either way, make sure that the job gets done correct, and your room is set up exactly how you envisioned it.

Are you shopping for health insurance? Are you looking for the best rates? Are you totally confused? There are so many people scrambling for health insurance and are trying their best to compare the rates. This is not easy at first because the health insurance companies have had to come up with creative alternatives in their insurance portfolios. Those creative alternatives can give the average person an insurance headache.

The rising costs of hospital and physician services are always passed on to the consumer. The consumer depends on their insurance company to pay for their medical expenses in exchange for a premium. The medical rates are based on several criteria.

Here are a few:

1. Gender - Male/Female rates differ.

2. Tobacco - Non-Tobacco - Tobacco users are higher

3. Household Status - Single, Parent-child, Parent-children, Husband-Wife, Husband-wife-child, Husband-wife-children

4. Deductible - $500 to $5000 (with some companies)

There are some things that you can do to affect the rate. The most cost savings method is to choose a high deductible plan. The higher the deductible calculates into a lower the rate. Low deductibles no longer justify the premiums paid. This trend toward high deductibles is called self-insuring. You are taking on the financial responsibility for the deductible amount.

The best way to offset and prepare for the out of pocket deductible is to start a health savings account. This is a tax deductible savings plan for medical expenses. It’s the equivalent of a medical IRA. The tax deduction offsets some of the out of pocket expense you incur with the higher deductible. Contact your tax advisor or accountant about starting a health savings account.

So you are thinking to yourself “how can I expand my operation, do more business and make more money?”. If you are thinking this right now and are in the web design or webhosting fields then Outsourcing might be for you. Now this is not to say that other companies or businesses can’t do outsourcing work. The reasons I give web design and webhosting as examples is they are sort of related. You can’t have a site up without hosting in return you really don’t need hosting unless you have a site up.

Now you may be thinking what steps do you need to get started on expanding via outsourcing. Well the very first thing for you to do is to see if you have a good clients base where you are:

-Unable to keep up with the work.

-Unable to do the work yourself(in the case you run a website that gets alot of request but have no knowledge in website design).

-Can do website and graphic works but you have no clue about programming.

Anyone of these situations can leave you looking to outsource your business. Especially when you design websites but can not code them in anything but html(which your clients might need it coded in php and mysql). Not being able to offer your clients a complete solution may cause them to go another developer. Which in turn can cause you to lose projects in the $X,XXX range.

Now that you have decided to turn to outsourcing, you need to find a reliable team of developers. Whether they are website designers, programmers or both. You will need to know that they can do the work, are reliable and trustworthy. Make sure when you do this search that you follow these simple rules and check on some things. Such as:

-Make sure you can contact them multiple ways and that they will contact you back in a reasonable amount of time.

-Get samples of their work.

-Ask for references.

-Get their rates.

-Find out their years of experience.

-Make sure they are willing to sign a contract.

-Find out how much work they can handle, what languages they program in, as well as their team size.

-It is all right to give them a deposit but limit it to 25-50% and don’t pay anymore until the project is complete. If you want to break it down into milestones you can, but do it in either 10% or 20% increments. Make sure the milestones are set out in the contract.

These things will protect you.

The next thing you are going to want to do before taking on any projects is start with a test project. This will allow you to try out your new team as well as see what type of markup on projects you will get. This will definitely show you what problems if any you might face with the new team. It will also show you if there is a significant enough markup for you to make it worth your time to outsource.

The final step you are going to need to do is to put in place a fluent system to monitor clients, emails and your team. This will definitely help when updates are needed to be done. A project management system will allow your clients and your team to talk to each other without revealing any personnel contact information. Which will save you from having your clients stolen from you. Also make sure you monitor all contact so that you can be sure you can trust who you are doing business with.

Just remember to take outsourcing one step at a time.

It’s one of the cutest images most of us have of little girls - playing with their dolls, having doll tea parties and putting their dolls to bed in their own little bassinet. I had a bassinet for my dolls when I was little too, and got countless hours of enjoyment out of playing with it - although I was bit keener on teddy bears than dolls! Eventually I grew older, the bassinet fell apart and got thrown away, but the memories remained.

When I was pregnant with my first child, I was fortunate to discover that my eldest sister had kept a lot of her baby stuff, stacked up in her shed, for over 10 years. We pulled it all out, cleaned it up, and I set up the nursery for my own baby. At first I wasn’t really sure about the bassinet, I thought it was a bit unnecessary - after all, my sister had given me a perfectly good crib. But she told me I’d find it more helpful than I realised, so I set it up anyway.

My baby’s arrival was early and dramatic, and he was kept at the hospital for almost a month. It was an extremely difficult time, and when he came home, although he was very healthy, he was also still very tiny. So I worried endlessly about him. Being a mother for the first time is scary enough, but it’s even scarier when your baby is small enough to be mistaken for a doll.

So when it came to putting baby to sleep, I admit it - I didn’t like him being in another room. Yes, I had a baby monitor, and during the day I used that when he had a nap, but at night I was always worried that something might go wrong and I might lose him. I also found it frustrating to go through the whole process of slippers, dressing gown, going up to his room and so on. Being so small he didn’t have a lot of strength and his feeds took ages. By the time we were done, I was always wide-awake. So propping myself up in bed to feed him was a lot warmer, more comfortable, and I could still manage to stay half asleep while he fed!

It didn’t take long for me to realise that having a bassinet with wheels on it meant that I could wheel it into our room at night, and have my baby right beside the bed. I had considered co sleeping, but with him being so small I really wasn’t keen on the idea. The bassinet really was the perfect solution. Whenever he woke up, I could lift him straight into bed for a feed, or do a quick diaper change on the bed before hopping back in for a feed. There was something very peaceful about curling up in bed feeding my baby, and I found it much easier to go back to sleep when he was finished and tucked back up in the bassinet again.

I gained enormous peace of mind, having baby so close, but at the same time he was cosy and safe in his own little sleeping place. Gradually, as he slept longer and needed less attention, I moved the bassinet to the end of the bed, and eventually back into his room. He slept in it right up to the point where he started discovering how to sit up, and I moved him into his crib.

There were some other really helpful things about the bassinet. I’d had a caesarean, so bending was difficult for a while. The bassinet was much higher than the crib, and so it was much easier for me to lift baby in and out because I didn’t have to bend over at all. I could also release the brake and then rock the bassinet gently back and forth - very useful if he was having a bit of trouble settling down for a nap. Some of the modern ones even have a light vibration feature, so the soothing work is done for you!

When my daughter came along, she also started her life sleeping in the bassinet, and it was just as useful for her too. Nowadays I find it extra special when I watch her playing with her own dolls and bassinet. Life can get so busy in the modern world, that there’s something almost magical in watching such a timeless activity.

It’s all in the Name

The domain you use for a particular site can have a huge impact in the way that humans and search engine spiders perceive it. Domain names were once so expensive that only those wanting to protect a brand or who could afford them owned them, now they are commonplace and if you know where to look, you can pick up a domain name for free.

Now that they are much easier to obtain, it is hard to take any site that does not have it’s own domain name very seriously. Without a domain name, a company is likely to be passed off as amateurish or seen to want to cut corners to save money. If you have a company site and you still haven’t got a domain name for your website, then you might want to think about getting one!

Make it Memorable

The best domain names are those that people can remember, because if your visitors can remember it, they are more likely to come back. If you do not already have a company or other name selected for your site, then it is often a good idea to make your domain name the brand for the site. Tying your site name to the domain is just one way you can help your visitors remember how to find you again.

Tips for choosing the most memorable domain name.
keep it short and easy to spell.

make use of keywords or popular search terms whenever possible.

generic terms are like gold dust if you can get them.

the more unusual but familiar sounding a domain, the better.

add a twist, some domain names are remembered for being different to what you would expect to find there (e.g. monster.co.uk)

One of the major problems of trying to promote a specific domain name is that in general, people (or sometimes browsers) assume that they end in a .com. If your site uses a domain other than a .com, then you may want to make the domain your site identity, otherwise you could have your visitors remembering the domain name but not the extension and going to related site that isn’t your own!

Domain Branding

If you purchase your domain with the intention that it will become the brand that you promote, then it is worth taking into account the specifics of the domain. Keywords can play an important part in your brand, particularly if it is specific to your industry, as they will help to make your domain name memorable while improving your search engine rankings.
In the case of directories such as Yahoo and DMOZ sites are usually listed in alphabetical order, so anything starting with A, B or C has a much better chance of being higher on the list than those starting with X, Y or Z, and so is more likely to be noticed. Don’t however be tempted to use a domain that has been “padded out” to get a high position in an alphabetically sorted list; not only will it look tacky and amateurish, but most directories use human editors who would pick up this obvious trick and either correct it or ignore the site altogether.

Case #1: Jeanette and Tom had been married 15 years. Wanting to surprise him for his birthday, Jeanette, with her own money, bought Tom a big-screen LCD television.

Tom’s reaction? He instantly blew up and berated Jeanette for spending so much moneybuying more television than they needed, a bigger model than they had previously looked at together.

Jeanette was dumbfounded at Tom’s reaction; she truly thought this would be a gift that would greatly please him.

Case #2: Jim was having a friendly beer with his brother-in-law Jack when the discussion turned to Jack’s success in life. Wanting to compliment him, Jim commented on how far he had come, how proud of himself he must be and how much he is an inspiration to others, given his background with alcoholic and dysfunctional parents.

Rather than seeing this as a compliment, however, Jack became offended and angry. He berated Jim for “putting him down,” as he interpreted Jim’s comment.

Views cause anger

As these examples clearly show, people are not disturbed by things or events, but by their view of them, as Epictetusana Greek philosopherobserved early in the 2nd century.

When an upsetting family event occurs, you have a choice of how you are going to explain it to yourselfwhat you are going to tell yourself about it. This will influence how angry, stressed, or upset, you become over the event.

Learning to change what you tell yourself your self-talk can break the cycle of negativity that can often poison our minds when we get angry. We all have ’scripts’ in our minds that tell us messages and stories about family members and how they behave.

Tom, who exploded when his loving wife bought him a new television, was telling himself things like: she has such poor judgment-buying a bigger TV than we need; there she goes again, spending money excessively; why can’t she ever do what I want her to do? Why did I marry such a woman?

Of course, none of these things made any sense to Tom once he cooled down and became his rational self again. But, at the moment of anger explosion, Tom’s self-statements seem 100% true to him.

Jack who became offended at being congratulated for overcoming his past, was actually having the following conversation in his head: he is putting me down because I had alcoholic parents; he is saying I am not capable of being successful on my own instead of ‘overcoming’ something in my past; he is mocking me because of how I grew up.

No wonder he became so upset at Jim’s innocent attempt at a compliment. Like many of us, Jack was responding to his perspective of what was being communicatednot Jim’s.

Changing your self-talk

The next time anger threatens to spoil a family event, try these simple steps:

Step 1: Retreat and think things over. Never respond immediately to a family anger or stress trigger. Give your body and your mind a chance to calm down so you can think rationally. Research shows this may take at least 20 minutes.

Step 2: Examine the evidence. The most convincing way of disputing negative self-talk toward a family member is to show yourself it is factually incorrect. Do not lie to yourself, butlike a detective simply and honestly look at all the evidence at hand.

For instance, when calm Tom remembered that his wife was excellent with money and rarely overspent. Jack remembered that Jim never disparaged him and, in fact, had always supported him throughout the years of their friendship.

Step 3: Find a more positive and useful way of interpreting the behavior of family members. Tom was finally able to see his wife’s buying behavior as a sign of love and caring for him, rather than trying to hurt him or cause stress.

Jack was eventually capable of seeing that Jim was truly trying to compliment him and that he truly saw Jack as someone to be admired because of how far he had come in life.

When you walk into a tattoo parlor, you are instantly greeted with eye-catching designs filled with color and complexity. Unless you have already decided on a design, it can be very difficult to select one on the spot. Even if you have a selected design already in mind, the artist may present you with varying possibilities that will present you with a difficult decision.

Before arriving for your tattoo, it is a good idea to have a selection of designs that you are interested in. Men and women will naturally select different images whereas the gentleman may prefer a masculine and powerful tattoo and the woman may prefer something dainty and pretty. For example, a gentleman may prefer a large tattoo with a lot of color or something that symbolizes the love that he shares for his wife or girlfriend. It is advisable that tattoo recipients give careful consideration to personalized tattoos. Why? If the relationship ends later, the tattoo will still remain unless it is surgically removed. Therefore, many gentlemen are electing to have symbols that remind them of something that they enjoy, such as a career, a hobby or a symbol that means something special to their life.

Women who decide to have a permanent tattoo will often select a dainty image, such as a heart, butterfly or floral depiction. These are small and can be placed anywhere, but most commonly are located on the hip, ankle or back of the shoulder area. Women typically select a smaller tattoo in an effort to make a statement of beauty and yet something that draws attention to a certain area, such as the leg or hip.

Even with these thoughts in mind, a tattoo is a very personal thing and must be a reflection of something that is important to the recipient. Therefore, there really isn’t a universal ‘man’ or ‘woman’ tattoo. Upon discussing various choices with the artist, a tattoo recipient will gain a better understanding of options and design choices. In addition, they will be able to browse through an image book or folder that will show a number of different tattoo choices, which will enable them to better decide which is right for them.

My Grandma Tauali’i didn’t know how to read or write when she came to this country…which was fine with me, ’cause she knew how to do everything else perfect!!!

She was the best cook, never using recipes, but could taste a dish and know exactly what was in it…she taught me to cook. She could sew and not use a pattern, she would just go to the store, look at a dress, buy some material and the dress would magically appear in a few days…she taught me to sew.

My Grandma Tauali’i raised me exclusively until I was 6, then off and on after that, so naturally I grew up learning the same techniques she used in how to cook, sew, heal, garden and clean.

When it came time for me to get ready for bed, I would want a story. My Grandmother use to tell me wonderful tales of Samoa and when she was growing up, all about her brothers and sisters, stories of how her Grandfather Opapo raised and taught her, it was the most wonderful time in my life.

Sometimes, my Grandmother would try to read a story from a book, because she was slow in reading English, she would sound out the words and I would read and learn along with her. At four years old, I began reading a set of encyclopedias my mother had bought for our house.

My Grandmother started me on my quest for learning.

I just loved to learn, about anything, my Grandmother made such an adventure out of being able to take care of myself.

My father remarried when I was 6 and my stepmother was only 12 years older than me, which was in itself an adventure, but probably more for her.

The highlight of my year was the summer, my Dad would load our little family up and drive us to Idaho, where my stepmother was from. We would end up on a small dairy farm in Eastern Idaho, near a small town called Blackfoot.

My Grandpa Hale was not a demonstrative man, and very quiet, but I loved him so much. In the mornings, he would get me up early, before the sun, and would take me out to milk the cows. I loved it. The milk had this smell as it sat in the bucket cooling off, and the sound of the cows eating and the milk stream hitting the inside of the bucket is something you can never forget. My Grandpa Hale didn’t say much in the mornings, he didn’t have to…I would be chattering away, asking all kinds of questions about cows and why they ate hay and did they liked being milked… you know, just chatter. I knew that after we were done with all the cows and had cleaned up the buckets and such, that Grandpa would stroll into the kitchen, where my Grandma Hale would have pulled out a fresh loaf of bread, some homemade jam, fresh milk and some fruit that she had canned, and we would have breakfast. Fresh milk with bread and maybe some canned cherries, it was the best and would stick with you all day!

Grandpa was a great reader and a funny man in his own rite. He was mainly serious to everyone else, but I thought he was funny. If my Grandpa would swear, I would say, “Grandpa, you can’t say that!”, and he would say, “That’s in the Bible, if it’s good enough for the Lord to say, then it’s good enough for me to say!”
He would talk to me about what he read and not in a “little kid talk” but in a normal way so I felt like he was, like me.

My Grandpa Hale use to let me help him in the garden. We would work pulling weeds and he would tell me about all the weeds, where they came from, the plants and where they came from( He was a professor of agriculture at a local university), and I would soak it up like a sponge.

One summer, I spent a lot of time with my Grandpa and Grandma Hale, in the garden and milking cows, that summer was the best! I can still remember it, after all these years. I cut the bottom of my foot that year sliding through a culvert in a canal nearby, the neighbor boy who was a few years older than me had to carry me home to have it dressed.

Grandpa had a grain bin that had lots of mice in it and wild cats everywhere. I use to try to catch the mice or the cats, which ever caught my eye.

When my parents came and told me it was time to go home, I cried forever it seemed. While the grownups visited for a last time in the house, I stayed out by the grain bin, sulking and saying goodbye to my summer retreat.

I dug my fingers deep into the Idaho soil, in an area that no-one would walk on, but an area that I knew my grandpa could see. I knew that that area would get lots of water in the spring and that the dirt was good.

I took the winter wheat from the grain bin and planted there, hoping that in the spring, my Grandpa would see my work.
When it came time to finally get in the car and leave, I cried again, I just couldn’t bear to leave my Idaho home. I waved goodbye to my Grandma and Grandpa Hale until I knew they couldn’t see me anymore, and then I slept most of the way back to Illinois.

In the spring, my Grandpa Hale called our house, which he never did. He asked to talk to me, which he just didn’t do. When I got on the phone he said, “I got your message.”
“Which one?” I asked.

“The one by the driveway that says ‘I love you Grandpa…is there another one?’”

“Yes, there is one in the garden that says, ‘I love Grandma too’.”

To me, Grandparents have been the pinnacle of my learning experience and the foundation on how I have raised my children.
My Grandma Tauali’i taught me how to read and write, cook, sew and heal by taking the time to learn about things with me and teaching me by doing with me.

My Grandpa and Grandma Hale taught me how to survive by teaching me side by side how to do manual labor, talking to me about what they knew and teaching me about life and the great outdoors.

The time that I have spent with my grandparents was the most precious in my life. The elderly have so much to give to us and to our children, if they will and if we as parents will let them. All my grandparents are gone now, but they left so much behind for me to pass on to my children, information you just don’t get anymore.

While we have made “healthy resolutions” this year, we should take the time to make “familial resolutions” this year also, to be able to pass precious information down from generation to generation is priceless and traditional and can never be reproduced by the Internet or a University, and can never produce the “Character” and “Integrity” that a Grandparent or Elderly influence can.

There is no such thing as a “small” job. Each function within our society aids our detailed technical lifestyles and well being. From a store clerk to a business executive, each position is an intricate part of the matrix of our world. We rely on these functions without even realizing their value or contribution to our daily activity. Each person has there place and each person has their purpose. The key is discovering and taking the time to find out what exactly you are to contribute to the world.

What is even more challenging is that often we are presented with serving multiple roles in our lives besides just our “purpose.” We are parents, workers, spouses, and children. All of which demand time and effort from our daily lives. What is important though is that we balance our time and our roles to nurture our purpose and inner abilities. It takes time and effort to discover your goals and ambitions, but it is a quest that need not go unnoticed.

A common excuse for not nurturing our talents is that we are too busy with other activities. When in actuality perhaps we have over extended our time and resources. Take a moment to sit down and note what in your life takes up your time. And then after you make that list, make a column and mark what is a priority, what really “has” to be done. Be sure to note how much personal time you get outside from all your other responsibilities. Start out small and see if you can allocate at least a half hour or an hour of your time a day devoted to yourself without interruptions. Use this time to evaluate the path of your life. Are you doing what you want to be doing right now? If yes, what could you do to further your progress? If no, what do you want to do?

Use free thinking in your evaluation. Free thinking means there are no limits. You can dream to be anything you want to be. Think about what you would like to do whether you were paid or not. Think about what makes you feel good as a person. Maybe you like the arts or maybe you like to work outside. Compare your aspirations with your current life situation. Are you close to your goals or are you far away?

Once you have addressed your aspirations, make notes in a special notebook dedicated to just you. It is great to see your ideas take formation when they hit the paper and also it is a great way to look at your progress on days where you may feel there is none. Plus you will need a notebook for further steps as well. Feel free to personalize this notebook and make it attractive for yourself.

Don’t feel guilty for taking this special time for yourself. Understand that your commitment to yourself will reflect off onto others. By bettering yourself, you become better in all the roles and commitments you hold. It is when we stop to listen to our true selves and the nature of our lives that we are able to create abundance in our environment and those around us. What you are doing is investing in a personal foundation.

If you only have a half hour or an hour a day, make a list of what you want to accomplish with that time. So once the clock starts ticking you are ready to be productive and work on your goals. Time management is good practice right from the beginning. So when you do figure out what your purpose is, you will be ready to use every minute you get efficiently.

Once you figure out where you want to go or what direction you want to take in your life, then take the time to research… research…research. Research is a crucial element of developing your career strategy. Go to the library or do a search online for the topic you are interested in pursuing. Find out what tools you will need to start your purpose. Will you need additional education or training? Will you need a business loan? Or will you be using your own personal resources for the start up? Don’t let money issues stop your progress. Remember knowledge is the currency here. There are ways to accomplish your purpose on little to no funds.

Remember real life purposes take real life work. Sure some people get lucky, but often others have to really dedicate themselves to their success. Have an open mind during this self evaluation period and the rest will follow. Most importantly, be patient with yourself the same way you would be patient with another person. Secondly, perseverance is essential in the formula for success. You have to be willing to make a serious commitment from day one to yourself. Your ideas may change form along the way, but at least you are continuing to reach towards self fulfillment.

As a summary for this step’s exercise, write it down, take a pen and paper and make a personal inventory of your ambitions or the things that you are good at and enjoy. What do you feel passion about? What would you want to do even if you didn’t get paid for it? Second of all, be honest with yourself. Don’t feel ashamed or guilty to recognize your talents… after all that’s what they are there for, to be recognized. It’s up to you to release them and share them with others. Make your purpose, your business.

Acne is a very common skin disorder which has become problem for all ages. The teen years can be tough and sometimes even after passing those adolescent years acne may not leave you alone. After passing through that testing phase of acne you have to clear another milestone of the scars left behind due to acne. Acne may leave you at some point or other but the scars become very visible and your face is the one which gets most affected.

There are different types of acne scars which causes severe damage to your skin

Ice-pick scars are mainly seen on the cheek and are mostly small and can be shallow or deep. These can sometimes be hard or soft to touch. The soft scars can be worked upon by stretching and the same cannot be done to the hard ice-pick scars.

Depressed fibrotic scars in comparison to ice-pick scars are very large which has sharp edges and steep sides. The metamorphosis of ice-pick scars leads to depressed fibrotic scars with the passage of time.

Soft scars as the name suggest is soft to touch and like a mountain erupts from the skin. They are small, circular and very linear in shape.

Atrophic macules are small but when it happens to surfaces the face it becomes very big. Over a period of time they may turn blue and dry out to be less conspicuous.

Follicular macular atrophy is usually seen on the chest or back of a person. These look similar to whiteheads which can be seen slightly raised above the surface.

Home treatments to remove scars are

*Use of sandalwood paste on the scars can help in getting the scars fade away
*Sandalwood paste mixed with black gram paste also helps
